Libra Philanthropies Announces the 2027 Rising Global Leaders Changemakers Climate Cohort

Applications are open to emerging leaders driving community grounded climate initiatives

NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, September 22, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Libra Philanthropies, established in 2023 by the Logothetis family as an independent 501(c)(3) foundation to perpetuate and scale the decade-long legacy of social responsibility initiatives carried out by Libra Group, today announced the launch of the 2027 Rising Global Leaders (RGL) Changemakers Climate Cohort, a new 9-month leadership development and experiential learning program for rising leaders involved in climate-related initiatives. Following the success of this year’s 2026 RGL Changemakers Democracy Cohort, Libra Philanthropies expanded its Changemakers pathway to the long-term thinking and pressing challenges of leadership in the climate space.

To help bridge this divide, Libra Philanthropies is opening applications for a select group of emerging climate leaders who meet the following criteria: applicants must be between the ages of 20–35 and leading or playing a significant role in a climate-focused initiative or organization. Applicants should be part of an initiative or organization with at least one year of operating history that is nonpartisan and has an annual budget under $500,000. Applications close on October 23rd, 2026.

The initiative was born out of one of the main challenges of climate-focused policy and work: decisions made today will shape generations to come. The consequences of these decisions are drastic, as climate is not a standalone issue. It influences where people can live, how economies grow, population and community displacement, wildlife and natural ecosystems, energy policy and financial systems. Libra Philanthropies recognizes that despite how pressing these issues are, those making the decisions on behalf of the climate likely won’t see their consequences. At the same time, young leaders that will be closest to the climate impacts are too often the furthest from the spaces where those decisions get made. The 2027 RGL Changemakers Climate Cohort aims to address this gap by supporting emerging climate leaders. It aims to equip emerging climate leaders with the networks, confidence and knowledge to navigate the systems that influence climate action and strengthen their ability to create meaningful change within their communities and beyond.

The program will be 9-months long, and will run on a hybrid schedule, combining in-person learning, virtual sessions and peer exchange. The Changemakers will convene in several locations across the world, where they will explore the foundations of climate action. They will be taken on an Experiential Learning Trip to [location TBA], and finish their program with an invitation to the 2027 Concordia Annual Summit in New York, where they will reflect on their growth, graduate from the program, and join a global community of leaders. Between their in-person meetings, the Cohort will have access to individually-tailored capacity-building sessions, where they will build leadership and organizational skills in areas such as strategy, governance and communications. These skills will be honed and shared during Cohort Reflection Circles, where the participants will be given a forum for honest exchange, sharing their experiences and insights with each other and exploring strategies together. Finally, they will be given the opportunity to impart their knowledge on Libra Philanthropies’ younger Rising Global Leaders members through the RGL Engagements. Here, the Changemakers will provide their real world experiences to those at the very early stages of their leadership journey.
