NEW YORK, Sept. 14, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Wellthy today announced its acquisition of Cleo, bringing together two leaders in family care around a shared vision: creating the singular platform for family care.
Together, Wellthy and Cleo will combine deep human expertise, intelligent technology, and complementary capabilities to help employers, health plans, and families across the full continuum of need—from the everyday moments of growing and caring for a family to some of life’s most complex health and caregiving challenges around the globe.
Family care rarely follows a straight line. Needs evolve, overlap, and often span generations at once. A new parent may also be caring for an aging parent. Someone managing a complex health condition may be coordinating their own care while supporting kids or other loved ones. From pregnancy and parenting to backup care, caregiving, aging, and complex health needs, families benefit from support that can meet them across the many parts of their lives. Wellthy is acquiring Cleo to better meet that need.
The acquisition represents another important milestone in Wellthy’s long-term vision for family care, bringing together complementary strengths that span pregnancy, parenting, caregiving, backup care, complex care, global support, and health plan partnerships. That broader foundation will enable continued investment in human expertise, technology, and AI-powered capabilities that make family care more accessible, more personalized, and more proactive and impactful for the families we serve.
“Families don’t experience care as a series of disconnected moments—they experience it as a lifelong journey,” said Lindsay Jurist-Rosner, co-founder and CEO of Wellthy. “The support someone needs when they’re preparing to welcome a new child evolves into different needs as their family grows, as parents age, or as life throws the unexpected their way. Our vision has always been to build a trusted partner that can support families throughout those journeys. Bringing Cleo into Wellthy accelerates that vision, bringing together the expertise, technology, and shared purpose to create the singular platform for family care.”
For more than a decade, Wellthy and Cleo have each helped redefine how organizations support families. Together, the organizations have supported millions of families through employers and health plans while delivering measurable outcomes for both families and the organizations they serve. Wellthy has demonstrated up to a 3.6x return on investment, while Cleo’s work has shown measurable improvements in maternity and family health outcomes, caregiver mental health and well-being, including reduced burnout, as well as stronger return-to-work outcomes. Together, those results underscore the far-reaching impact of family care, with the potential to improve health outcomes, workforce productivity and retention, and the overall cost and experience of care.
“From the beginning, Cleo has believed in supporting the needs of the whole family,” said Madhavi Vemireddy, MD, CEO of Cleo. “That means being there across the full arc of family life, from planning and growing a family to parenting and caring for an adult loved one, through both healthy and complex care journeys like autism, cancer, and dementia. It also means recognizing when caregiving itself is putting someone’s health and well-being at risk, identifying those at greatest risk of burnout and mental health strain, and addressing the underlying caregiving burden with expert coaching, navigation, and care coordination. Joining Wellthy gives us the opportunity to bring that whole-family approach to an entirely new scale. Together, we’ll be able to support more families, across more of life’s moments, than ever before.”
The acquisition marks the beginning of the next chapter for Wellthy and Cleo. Over the coming months, the organizations will thoughtfully bring together their teams, technology, and expertise while continuing to support clients, members, and partners with the trusted experience they know today. Together, they’ll continue building toward a future where every family has one trusted partner throughout life’s many journeys.
