SAN FRANCISCO, CA, UNITED STATES, September 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 1, 2026 — SIMO, a smart connectivity platform company, today announced the first commercial deployment of its xSIM AI Intelligent Network Selection technology, in partnership with Kbro, one of Taiwan’s largest cable television and broadband operators, and IoT2things, a subsidiary of the Diandian Global Group. The deployment gives enterprises an automatic mobile backup path when their fixed-line connection degrades or fails, and it is the model SIMO intends to bring to the United States.
The U.S. represents a natural extension of the approach, according to the company. Hurricanes along the Gulf and Atlantic coasts, wildfires and earthquakes on the West Coast, tornadoes across the central Plains and severe winter storms routinely damage cell sites, overload networks and cause prolonged regional outages. Those outages interrupt banks, retailers, logistics operators and public-safety agencies alike. Because no single U.S. carrier delivers uniform coverage and reliability in every region, SIMO says carrier-agnostic network selection carries particular value in that market.
The company is in early discussions with U.S. carriers, network equipment vendors and systems integrators about localizing the technology for American enterprises. Target use cases include retail and restaurant point-of-sale systems, ATM and banking networks, distributed logistics and cold-chain monitoring, and remote infrastructure monitoring in disaster-prone regions. In each case, the objective is the same: a business-critical connection that fails over automatically to the best available network rather than depending on the resilience of a single provider.
Network interruptions carry direct commercial cost. ATM withdrawals, mobile payments, in-store point-of-sale terminals, cloud workloads, logistics coordination and AIoT devices all depend on continuous connectivity, and even brief outages can halt operations and cancel transactions. Connection quality remains vulnerable to cell tower coverage gaps, peak-hour congestion, unexpected line failures and environmental interference. As connectivity options multiply, SIMO argues, the operative question shifts from whether a network is available to whether the best available network can be found automatically, in any environment, at any time.
Conventional SIM cards are locked to a single carrier. SIMO’s xSIM technology uses software and AI algorithms to evaluate network quality and availability in real time across multiple carriers, then select and switch to the best available connection without manual intervention. The company describes the result as network intelligence: devices that can sense the network environment, assess it, and choose among options autonomously.
In the Taiwan deployment, Kbro is adding mobile network backup to its enterprise broadband service, paired with QNET_VS enterprise-grade network equipment developed by IoT2things and integrated with SIMO’s xSIM AI technology. Enterprises use Kbro’s fixed-line network as the primary connection; when the system detects an anomaly, traffic switches to a mobile backup that is not tied to any single carrier. SIMO says the configuration is engineered to support service availability targets of up to 99.99 percent.

Taiwan offers high 5G penetration, a complete ICT supply chain and dense enterprise adoption, making it a practical proving ground for the technology. Building on enterprise networking and dual-network backup, SIMO said it plans to deepen work with Taiwanese carriers, equipment makers and systems integrators, extending network selection into smart manufacturing, logistics and transportation, connected vehicles, AI edge computing devices, cross-border equipment and remote monitoring.
