Pennsylvania-based independent publisher launches regional imprint focused on literature and creative nonfiction from New England authors
BOILING SPRINGS, PA, UNITED STATES, October 23, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Sunbury Press, a Pennsylvania-based independent book publisher, is expanding its regional publishing reach into New England and the Adirondacks with the launch of Champlain Press, a new imprint dedicated to literature and creative nonfiction by authors from the region.
The new imprint builds on the success of Sunbury Press’ existing regional publishing model, including Catamount Press, which focuses on authors and titles connected to the Northern Appalachian region. With Champlain Press, Sunbury Press aims to create additional opportunities for New England-based authors while bringing more regionally focused books to readers.
“We are always looking for ways to reach new regional authors,” said Lawrence Knorr, Founder and CEO of Sunbury Press. “We have had several authors from New England publish with us, and the launch of Champlain Press gives us an opportunity to build on those relationships and develop a stronger presence in the region. We look forward to welcoming more authors from New England to the press.”
Sunbury Press is transitioning select current authors to its new Champlain Press imprint, which is now accepting submissions for new titles. The first new title is One Mountain After Another, a debut memoir by Tim Bennett recounting his retirement legacy hike along Vermont’s Long Trail.
The launch of Champlain Press expands Sunbury Press’ portfolio to 20 total imprints, reflecting the publisher’s continued focus on connecting authors with readers who share an interest in the regions, subjects, and themes represented in their work.
Champlain Press will feature literature and creative nonfiction from authors across the six New England states: Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, as well as the Adirondacks region.
