Veteran health care executive to help accelerate value-based care growth and bring Lumeris’ AI-powered Tom™ platform to more health care organizations

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Oct. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Lumeris, a leader in health care technology and services, today announced that Charles “Chuck” Saunders, M.D., has joined the company as chief clinical transformation officer and president of Value-Based Care Enablement.

Saunders will lead Lumeris’ Value-Based Care Enablement business, working with health systems and physicians to improve clinical and financial performance under value-based care models. He also will provide clinical leadership and oversight for the continued development and customer adoption of Tom™, Lumeris’ AI-powered Primary Care as a Service™ platform.

The appointment comes as Lumeris continues to integrate its deep value-based care expertise with advanced AI to help health systems and physicians address growing capacity constraints, reduce administrative burden and expand their ability to deliver proactive, coordinated care.

Saunders brings more than three decades of leadership experience across clinical medicine, health care technology, population health and value-based care. Most recently, he served as CEO of Integra Connect, a technology and services company focused on value-based Oncology care and precision medicine. Previously, he founded and served as CEO of Healthagen, Aetna’s population health management business, where he helped build a portfolio supporting more than 70 accountable care organizations. Earlier in his career, he served as chairman and CEO of Broadlane and chief medical officer of Healtheon/WebMD.

A physician by training, Saunders earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from the University of Southern California.
