Hubio, a provider of cloud-based statistical reporting solutions for P&C insurers, today highlighted its collaboration with EMC Insurance in modernizing its workers’ compensation reporting operations as part of EMC’s transition to Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP).
Through this collaboration, EMC successfully transitioned from legacy systems while maintaining regulatory reporting across multiple jurisdictions. Workers’ compensation reporting presents unique challenges due to fragmented regulatory requirements, multi-source data environments, and the need to reconcile policy, exposure, and claims data across successive submissions. As EMC modernized its core systems, ensuring continuity and accuracy in reporting became a critical priority.
Hubio partnered with EMC to deliver its purpose-built platform, regul8, designed to operate across fragmented data sources and evolving system environments. A phased implementation merged legacy policy and claims reporting with a multi-year data migration, enabled EMC to transition to Guidewire Cloud and maintain regulatory compliance.
“EMC’s move to Guidewire Cloud was a significant undertaking, and workers’ compensation reporting is one of the most complex pieces to get right. We built regul8 specifically to handle that complexity — reconciling data across fragmented sources without disrupting compliance. This partnership reflects what we set out to do: give insurers the confidence to modernize without ever losing sight of what regulators and stakeholders depend on.”
— Philip Henville, CEO, Hubio
Benefits include:
- Maintain uninterrupted workers’ compensation reporting throughout complex system transformations.
- Modernize reporting operations by transitioning from legacy systems to a scalable cloud-based environment.
- Operate across fragmented data sources and evolving system environments with a unified reporting platform.
- Merge legacy reporting streams with converted data to preserve compliance and reporting continuity.
- Improve visibility into data issues prior to submission, enabling faster resolution and smoother cross-team collaboration.
- Plan with greater predictability and reduce total cost of ownership through a scalable, evergreen reporting model.
Beyond technology, Hubio played a central role in managing the end-to-end transition, aligning stakeholders, supporting data validation, and ensuring continuity across both legacy and cloud-based reporting workflows.
“Transitioning to Guidewire Cloud is a major undertaking, and maintaining continuity in workers’ compensation reporting was critical throughout the process. Hubio’s platform and team gave us confidence that our regulatory obligations would continue to be met, even as we managed a multi-year migration alongside our day-to-day reporting.”
— Erik Keninger, VP, Enterprise Engineering, EMC Insurance
Together, these capabilities improved visibility into data issues, strengthened collaboration across teams, and reduced variability in reporting cycles. The result is a scalable, evergreen reporting foundation that supports regulatory confidence while enabling predictable planning and lower total cost of ownership over time.
